Climate change protesters blocked 10 British oil terminals near London, Birmingham and Southampton on Friday and demanded that the government halt new oil and gas projects, leading to six arrests by police.

The protesters said they were from Just Stop Oil which calls itself a coalition of groups working together to bring an end to exploration, development and production of fossil fuels in the United Kingdom.

Police said they were dealing with three incidents in the county of Essex, just east of London, and had arrested six people.
