A telephone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US president Joe Biden is currently underway, news agency ANI reported. The phone calls come after the US president expressed his solidarity with India as the nation faces a second wave of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the country.
Earlier on Monday, Joe Biden in a tweet had assured India that United States would take required actions to help India in its time of crisis.
"Just as India sent assistance to the United States as our hospitals were strained early in the pandemic, we are determined to help India in its time of need," Biden said a tweet
