Sports journalists protest harassment of journalist Rozina

Sports journalists from different media outlets have staged a protest at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and called for the release of Rozina Islam, Prothom Alo's investigative journalist.

Bangladesh national cricket team had a practice session scheduled on Tuesday in Mirpur.

The journalists assembled at the stadium for this and staged a protest demanding Rozina's release. They carried a banner that read 'Journalism is not a crime.'

Earlier, sports journalists protested the harassment and detention of Rozina Islam at Bangabandhu National Stadium after the Bangladesh football team's practice session. 

Rozina Islam was taken to Shahbagh Police Station around 8:30 pm yesterday after being detained at the health ministry in the Secretariat for five hours. She wasn't hospitalised despite falling ill. Rozina Islam was taken to jail after a Dhaka court turned down a plea to take her on remand.
