Sabbir Rahman, who allegedly threw stones and verbally abused Sheikh Jamal spinner Elias Sunny, has been fined BDT 50,000. Sheikh Jamal manager Sultan Mahmud, who got involved in an argument with Sabbir that day, has been fined the same amount of money. Elias Sunny has been given a warning.

That they have been penalised has been confirmed by the BCB.  A media release from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) read, "An incident involving two players and a club official during the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 Cricket League 2019-20 match on 16 June at BKSP Ground 3 between Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Legends of Rupganj has been reported to the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM)."

"The technical committee of the CCDM held a hearing on the evening of 16 June where Elias Sunny, Sabbir Rahman and Sheikh Jamal Manager Sultan Mahmud and the match officials were present."

While batting in the match against Sheikh Jamal, Legend of Rupganj's Sabbir got into an argument with Elias Sunny. Sheikh Jamal sources said that Sabbir had insulted Sunny that day.

Then on July 16, Sabbir allegedly threw stones at Sunny and abused him verbally, which included racist remarks. Sheikh Jamal authorities then lodged an official complaint, requesting to take disciplinary actions against Sabbir.
