Mominul Haque has already captained Bangladesh in 4 Test matches in his 15-month captaincy tenure so far. In these 4 matches, he never got all the senior players playing in the team together. Mominul got captaincy as Shakib Al Hasan got banned, then Tamim Iqbal missed a Test against India.

In his second assignment, Mominul missed another experienced campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim as the wicketkeeper-batsman didn't travel to Pakistan for the Karachi Test.

Bangladesh are returning to the Test fold after almost a gap of one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic with the first match of the two-Test series Wednesday. And the skipper will be encouraged to get a full squad for the first time since he got captaincy throne.

Mominul is happy that finally he will be getting all his arsenal back but he also mentioned he has nothing extra to ask from the senior campaigners. Well, it's not like what it sounds. Mominul believes the senior cricketers know when to come forward and help the new skipper, so he won't have to go to them every time he seeks help.

"I have nothing to ask from them, really. They are all professionals, and they know exactly how to react and contribute. I am happy how they have helped handle certain situations in the past. I know they will do the same in the upcoming series as well," said Mominul.

With being suddenly handed over the responsibility and having to deal with tough away assignments without a few key players, Mominul had barely the chance to express himself as the captain. But now that the chance is there, Tigers' skipper will want to show the attacking side of his captaincy.

"I always like to do attacking captaincy. Being defensive is not really my thing. Maybe sometimes I had to change my style due to match conditions and situations. But, I always prefer doing attacking captaincy," said Mominul when asked about his preferred style of captaincy.
