Dhaka Premier League (DPL) resumed on Wednesday after a day's break and Prime Doleshwar Cricket Club beat Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by 19 runs in the seventh match of the tournament at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Prime Doleshwar posted a total of 149 for six in their 20 overs. They were off to a blistering start as opener Imran Uzzaman went all guns blazing. Imran got out in the 5th over after scoring a belligerent 40 off 17. Since then, no batter could really step on the accelerator. Shamim Hossain and Shorifullah played a couple of cameos and Doleshwar reached 149. Khaled Ahmed and Masum Khan picked up a couple each.

But it was too much for Khelaghar as the chase never got going. They lost wickets at regular intervals and couldn't manage more than 130. They lost their last wicket in the last ball of the match. Kamrul Islam, Rejaur Rahman Raja and Enamul Haque Jr. bagged a couple each. This was Khelaghar's second defeat on the trot.

Gazi Group Cricketers won by seven wickets against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the second game of the day. Gazi Group chased down 152 pretty comfortably with seven balls to spare thanks to twin fifties from skipper Mahmudullah and Mominul Haque.

Sheikh Jamal's opening pair of Shykat Ali and Mohammad Ashraful did a fine job, adding 69 in 8.1 overs. Ashraful top-scored for Sheikh Jamal with 41 while Shykat made 33. Handy contributions from Nasir Hossain (20 off 13) and Ziaur Rahman (21 off 16) propelled them to 151 for seven after 20 overs.

In reply, Gazi Group cruised to the target courtesy of the match-winning 97-run partnership between Mahmudullah and Mominul. The latter got out in the 18th over after scoring a solid 54 off 36 with the help of eight boundaries. But Mahmudullah stayed till the end and took them home. The skipper made 62 off 51 balls. He struck four fours and two sixes. Gazi Group went past Sheikh Jamal's total with seven balls to spare.

Imran Uzzaman was the player of the match in the first game of the day and Mahmudullah bagged the award in the second one.

This was Gazi Group's first win in the tournament. Prime Doleshwar got their first win too and are currently on top of the table with three points.
