The European Union (EU) has announced 3 million Euros to help the Rohingya in Bhasanchar.

European Union Home Affairs Commissioner Yalva Johansson, who is visiting Bangladesh made the announcement on Thursday (10 November) during a ceremony held at the residence of the Head of the European Commission Delegation in the capital's Gulshan area, said a press release.

"We are happy to hear that the European Union will provide three million Euros for humanitarian assistance to the Rohingyas in Bhasanchar. They also helped the Rohingyas in Cox's Bazar. The Government of Bangladesh is grateful to the European Union," State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman said at the event.

"When the conflict started in Myanmar, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina opened the border and ordered Rohingyas to enter Bangladesh. At the same time, the prime minister said that if the people of Bangladesh can eat, they will share that food with the Rohingyas. That is why our prime minister has been given the title of Mother of Humanity by the international community," he added.

"Bangladesh government is trying to ensure all kinds of humanitarian assistance to the Rohingyas. The violence among the Rohingyas has already been brought under control," he further said.
