Ramadan Tips: Fasting and Heartburn

Heartburn can be a common occurance for those who are fasting.

Dr Mohammed Mahbub Alam of Unite Hospital shared a few tips to overcome this problem.

According to him those who are regularly taking medicine for indigestion, such as antacids or proton pump inhibitors, can continue taking them during Ramadan, twice daily in sehri & iftar.

Heartburn or belching can be controlled by eating in moderation and avoiding oily, deep-fried or very spicy food.

Reducing caffeine intake, stopping smoking and sleeping with head raised on few pillows can also help.
