You are busy. With traffic, work and bad news. You travel like bees to attend business meetings. If you feel fatigued, it's a call to take a break from the cityscape, from urban stress.

For a few days or a long weekend, disappear into nature, but in lavish style. Don't plan, just disappear.

Appraise Mermaid Beach Resort.

Moist wind and coconut leaves dancing, sunsets and sunrises in the crimson golden sky, rose mallows and endless tranquil music of the sea shore— Mermaid is your long-awaited Hawaiian holiday, without a 16-hour flight.

Bring your plastic card and wallet and take the next flight to Cox's Bazar. Mermaid staff will pick you up in a tomtom vehicle from Cox's Bazar airport, and you'll be at their main gate in half an hour.

Mermaid offers everything you need for peace. Equipped like any luxurious resort, it gives you every purpose to return to nature. You can enjoy a private and picturesque view of Inani beach. Mermaid serves Cox's Bazar's raw local cuisine, including seafood. Private verandas and gardens for every bungalow and villa. Air-conditioned rooms with large open-air bathrooms. Sumptuous spa sessions and a gym corner to make sure you don't miss out on your routine workout.

Therapeutic greenery, the fragrance of ferns, soft wind and candy clouds — all you've written in your dream trip diary — you'll get them along with their luxurious amenities at Mermaid Resort.

Days in the Blue Radio

You'll get a warm welcome at the reception, with fresh coconut water and a rose mallow garland. Helpful support staff are ready to escort you to your villa.

"Blue Radio" is the most luxurious villa in the resort. Unlocking the wooden door, you're going to plunge into a plush world filled with nature.

The villa has oversized wooden decks, a sun lounger and a large private Jacuzzi. There's a bedroom with floor to ceiling windows and a separate living area for your visitors. Alfresco feast arrangement on the terrace and inside the dining corner. The spacious bathroom with bathtub and an open-air shower allows you to swim in nature. Everything is surrounded by plants that offer you a generous space.

The morning sun will peep on the shore. The chirping of birds will wake you up. Get up, order your morning Kazi and Kazi, or a milky latte, and head towards the sea facing the backyard. Just across the backyard fence, you're on your own beach. Between you and the waves there would be nothing.

Have your morning yoga or meditation, if you feel like it, in a personal open-air hut. Or walk along the sandbar to the nearby island, lie down on a towel or on the sand, search for seashells, and drink in the ocean view.

The complimentary breakfast bar opens with fresh juices and fruit salads, pancakes, local honey, paratha and roti, potato curry and eggs.

The rest of the day is yours to plan. Sit in the private Jacuzzi, hot or cold water, and spend the mid-morning reading or listening to some music of your choice. Or just let the breeze and the coconut leaves take care of your playlist with their group orchestra.

Go on a solo kayak or catch a local fishing boat for the day. Take your first surf lesson or surf on your own. Or, if you prefer, book a relaxing spa.

You're all set for the sunset. Sitting on your private beach or sandbar in front of the main dining area, enjoy a panoramic view. The hypnotic color show presented by the dusk will take you to the seven layers of the sky, no doubt. So many shades and tones could also be your lesson in color palettes.

When the sun goes down and you feel a tad lonely, you might have the company of chatting frogs while you have a candlelight dinner. Some of them are inspired by the story of the princess and the frog. Be careful not to blame the mermaid, duh!

The fact that "Blue Radio" hosted several VVIPs, including thirteen international diplomats, can be highlighted in your vacation vlog.

Book "Blue Radio" at Tk36,000++ per night.

Cuisine

Mermaid Beach Resort is committed to serving organic, local, and healthy food. Sourcing the freshest ingredients from the locality, they welcome you to their open kitchen.

Mermaid offers the finest seafood from Cox's Bazar. Calamari rings, spiced pomfret and grilled lobster are recommended. Raju, the head chef, highlighted their Bangladeshi set menu that some guests might have missed.

Ctg Port Gets A Boost: The Chattogram port officially starts to berth vessels with 10 metres drought on Monday. As of now, only 9.5m draught vessels could anchor at the port, each carrying 2,500 TEUs. But the 10m draught ship will be able to carry 4,000 TEUs, bumping up the port’s container handling capacity and bringing down costs. The photo was taken recently from the port area.
