Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's highly anticipated entry to the DCEU will be a game-changer for the franchise. Previously, it was reported that the film's script included the likes of Hawkman and the JSA. However, according to scooper Charles Murphy, Black Adam will also introduce the iconic DC heroine Hawkgirl. Murphy reports that Warner Bros is looking to cast an actress, 20-30 years old, for the role in the film. Debuting within the pages of DC Comics in Flash Comics #1 in 1940, Hawkgirl was among the first female superheroes.
Often appearing alongside Hawkman, she possesses the abilities of flight and super strength. Additionally, using Nth metal, she tends to reincarnate, heal herself, and communicate with birds. The character has gone through several iterations over the decades. Additionally, within the Arrowverse, Hawkgirl, played by Ciara Renée, appeared in The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
The Rock recently revealed that Black Adam will arrive in theaters in December 2021. He teased the film and character as Superman's equivalent in a lengthy Instagram post.
