nited Commercial Bank Limited (UCB) organised the first meeting of its Shariah Supervisory Committee at the bank's corporate office on Monday.

 

Bazal Ahmed, chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of the bank presided over the meeting, said a media release.

Among other members of the committee, Mohammed Shawkat Jamil, managing director of UCB, Dr Akbar Hossain, professor of department of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies, Islamic University, Kushtia, Dr Mohammad Abdur Rashid, professor of department of Islamic Studies, University of Dhaka, Dr KM Saiful Islam Khan, professor of department of Persian Language and Literature, University of Dhaka and Dr Mohammed Nasir Uddin (Azhary), associate professor of department of Al-Fiqh and Legal Studies, Islamic University, Kushtia were present in the meeting.

Besides, Arif Quadri, additional managing director of UCB, Nabil Mustafizur Rahman, its deputy managing director, ATM Tahmiduzzaman, SEVP and company secretary also participated in the meeting.
