Meanwhile, workers of Amin Jute Mills held a human chain program at the Shahid Minar Gate in the Aturar Depo area of Chattogram city on Monday afternoon for transferred workers' salaries.

Kamal Uddin, office secretary of the Amin Jute Mills Workers' Union, told The Business Standard that the state-owned jute mills were supposed to pay wages to all permanent and temporary workers during the general holidays.

But the mill has not paid the temporary workers any wages during the general holidays, he added.
