The country reported three deaths and 2,087 new cases from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till 8am Tuesday with a rise in the positivity rate. 

The positivity rate was recorded at 15.47% during the same period after testing 13,489 samples across the country. 

The number case was 2,101 on Monday after testing 13,820 samples and the positivity rate was 15.20%. 

On Tuesday Health Minister Zahid Maleque said, coronavirus infection is on the rise. So the number of covid-19 tests has to be increased. Those who go to the offices must wear masks and follow hygiene rules, he added.

"I urge everyone to wear a mask".

So far, 29,145 people have died and 19,69,361 tested positive for the virus in Bangladesh since 2020. 

Meanwhile, 200 Covid patients were cured in the last 24 hours recording the recovery rate at 96.84%.
