Bangladesh reported two deaths and 1,902 fresh Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours till 8 am Sunday.
The positivity rate was recorded at 15.53% during the same period after testing 12,246 samples across the country.
Earlier on Saturday, the country reported six deaths, and 1,105 new cases after testing 8,357 samples and the positivity rate stood at 13.22%.
Though the number of deaths has decreased, the Covid positivity rate rose from 13.22% to 15.53% on Sunday.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Covid-19 infections are considered to be under control if a country's detection rate remains below 5% for more than two consecutive weeks.
In June, the country reported 18 Covid-linked deaths and 20,278 new cases, while 4,749 patients recovered from the disease, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the 18 deaths during the period, 6 were unvaccinated patients while 7 were vaccinated with two doses of the Covid vaccine and 5 were vaccinated with booster doses.
So far, 29,162 people have died and 19,78,689 tested positive for Covid-19 in Bangladesh since 2020. Meanwhile, 307 Covid patients were cured in the last 24 hours recording the recovery rate at 96.44%.
