Newly appointed administrator of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Khorshed Alam Sujon said there will be no place for corruption of any kind in the organisation.

He was addressing a press meet, organised by the Chittagong Journalists Forum, Dhaka (CJFD) at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) auditorium in the city on Saturday.

Khorshed Alam said, "180 days are not enough to solve all problems. It is not possible to solve everything at this time. However, I will prioritise solving the drainage problem and renovation of the roads."

About waterlogging, he said, "It is not a problem of Chattogram city only; it is a common problem of the country."

"Being a city of river and sea, waterlogging is a common problem here. New projects have been undertaken to solve the waterlogging problem."

Regarding traffic jams, Khurshed Alam said, "Chattogram Port is the main obstacle in resolving traffic congestion in the city. So, container terminals will not be allowed here and there."

"I was with Mohiuddin Chowdhury, former mayor of Chattogram city, for around 17 years and I will work in light with that experience," he added.

"Hopefully, all the problems in Chattogram will be solved within a year," he added.

"If I do wrong, you [journalists] will raise this. I promise that I will never get angry about negative news," Khorshed Alam said.
