BNP's march is to reclaim people's rights: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the party's march programme is for reclaiming people's rights.
"This march is a triumph of democracy," he also said while inaugurating the march from Jatrabari to Jurain in front of the Jatrabari Ideal School Monday afternoon.
Monday's march, organised by the BNP's Dhaka south unit, is the second of four "mass walk" demonstrations across the capital that the party announced Thursday as part of its peaceful anti-government movement.
"The Awami League is losing their ground. Every day they are being more detached from the people," claimed the BNP secretary general.
Pointing out the increased prices of daily commodities, electricity as well as the gas crisis, Fakhrul further claimed, "They are looting that money and smuggling it abroad."
The BNP leader once again called on the ruling Awami League to dissolve the parliament and re-introduce the provision of caretaker government to oversee national polls.
"No one voted in the last two polls. They [Awami League] voted by themselves. They held one vote unopposed while in another election they voted the night before. People do not want this sort of election anymore," said Fakhrul.
BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu, Adviser to the party chairperson Habibur Rahman Habib, BNP leader Abdus Salam Azad, Azizul Bari were also present in the pre-walk rally, led by BNP Dhaka south unit convener Abdus Salam.
Later, around 2:50pm, the march started towards Jurain Rail Gate.
Earlier on Saturday, the party's Dhaka North unit held the first of four marches from Badda to Malibagh in the capital.
On 31 January, the Dhaka North unit BNP is scheduled to hold a march from Gabtoli to Mirpur-10 intersection while the Dhaka South unit BNP will take out the last of the four marches from Mugda to Malibagh on 1 February.
