A three-day programme featuring project display was held at the capital's Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB) in a bid to inspire the young architects of the country.

The event ended on Friday (December 27).

Thirty of the best research papers from 10 educational institutions were exhibited at the programme.

The programme was part of steel manufacturer KSRM and IAB's decision to launch an award titled 'KSRM Awards for Future Architects: Best undergraduate Thesis' for upcoming architects.

The name of the winners will be announced in January 2020, according to KSRM's website.

Both organisations have recently signed a 10-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to that effect.

Deputy Managing Director of KSRM Sarwar Jahan and President of IAB architect Jalal Ahmed had signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations.

Under this programme, theses and projects by architecture students will get recognition and studio teachers and institutions will be honoured.

"We are amazed at the attendance of students and guardians in such large numbers," said KSRM Deputy Managing Director Shariar Jahan.
