JCD marches against 'police brutality' on protesters
More than 100 people, including JCD leaders, activists, journalists, and police were injured in the clash in front of the National Press Club yesterday
Various units of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) around the country today have taken to the streets to march against "police brutality on protesters".
Fractions of JCD from Tejgaon College, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka Metropolitan, Tongi Government College marched against police, who charged batons and injured protestors during a protest demanding justice for online activist and writer Mushtaq Ahmed.
Activists of JCD faced police action yesterday as they tried to hold a pre-announced rally in the capital.

On May 5 last year, RAB arrested cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore and writer Mushtaq Ahmed from Kakrail and Lalmatia under the Digital Security Act for posting anti-government posts on Facebook.
Mushtaq Ahmed died at the Kashimpur jail in Gazipur on 25 February.
