As many as 59 returnees in Manikganj and 3 in Pabna district have been placed under home-quarantine on Tuesday.

They returned to Bangladesh recently from different countries including Italy, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

All of them will be under observation for next 14 days, said Manikganj Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Anwarul Amin Akhand.

"The Bangladesh returnees of seven upazilas of Manikganj are in good health. They were put under self-quarantine as part of cautionary measures," said the Manikganj civil surgeon.

The physician said that medical personnel were collecting updates of the returnees with the help of the local administration.

The three returnees in Pabna will also have to follow the same procedures, the authorities of Pabna District Health Department told the media.
