The University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and British Council, Dhaka held a view-exchange meeting on Sunday.
The meeting focused on the issues relating to strengthening faculty development, improvement of teaching and learning, introducing blended learning, community engagement programmes for students, regional policy dialogue on higher education and research.
UGC member Professor Dr Biswajit Chanda presided over the virtual meeting where British Council Director of Education David Maynard, UGC SPQA Division Director Dr Md Fakhrul Islam, Head of Education of British Council Nusrat Jahan, Project Manager Delower Hossain, Project Coordinator Naveed Ferdous, UGC Additional Director Jesmin Pervin, Deputy Directors Md Rokonuzzaman and Bishnu Mallick were present during the meeting.
In his speech, Professor Biswajit Chanda lauded the role of British Council for coming forward for the upgradation of higher education.
He also sought the cooperation from British Council with regard to the development and excellence in the country's higher education, training on andragogy, heutagogy, compliance with the law and rules regarding cross border higher education and so forth.
