Chittagong Independent University (CIU) has undertaken far-reaching plans for infrastructural development to enhance the quality of education and facilities for students.

The members of the Board of Trustees, at an online meeting held on Tuesday, undertook the plans and gave various suggestions to keep the university's academic activities more dynamic.

In the meeting, they discussed several issues - including technical and physical infrastructural development - to spread the knowledge among the students.

Touhid Samad said CIU has come a long way in the development of education in the global context.  The university's main goal is to enhance  the quality of education.

CIU vice chancellor Mahfuzul Haque Chowdhury said the Covid-19 infection has put a lot of pressure on the education sector.

The academic syllabus and the war of time are both forcing  the institutions, students and parents to rethink about quality education, he said.

Board of Trustees members Syed Mahmudul Haque, A Qayyum Khan, Ismail Dobhas, Engineer Ali Ahmed, Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury, Mirza Salman Ispahani, Safia Gazi Rahman, Aminur Reza Khan, Lutfe M Ayub, Aminuzzaman Bhuiyan and acting registrar and secretary of the Board of Trustees Anjuman Banu Lima were among others present at the meeting.
