To celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the event in its first edition, focused on his vision for development.

Towards the end of the event, prize giving ceremony was held where the Team Capitalist from BUET was declared champion. The first and second runner ups were Team Navigators from BUP and Team Garrison from IBA, University of Dhaka respectively.

The Department of Development Studies under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of BUP supported the event.

The university's Vice-Chancellor Major General Md Emdad Ul Bari was present as the chief guest while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Abul Kashem Mozumder was present as the special guest. Dr Atiur Rahman, Bangabandhu Chair Professor at the University of Dhaka and Dr Syed Anwar Husain, Bangabandhu Chair Professor at BUP were present as the keynote speakers.

As 'Development' is the key priority of Bangladesh, organisers hoped that a platform like Devthon would help encourage the aspiring students of the country to actively engage in solving problems and attain the much-needed development.

The outcome of the competition will certainly contribute to improve extra-curricular activities of BUP students and boost inter-university student cooperation, the speakers of the event added.

Brigadier General AKM Iqbal Azim, dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of BUP moderated the contest. Moreover, students from different universities, BUP officials, teachers and students, as well as, invited guests were also present at the programme.
