Professor Vincent Chang, Vice-Chancellor of Brac University and members of its International Office met the visiting President of Nepal, Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lotay Tshering in Dhaka last week.

These courtesy meetings took place while both dignitaries visited Dhaka to support the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of Bangladesh's independence. These meetings carry great significance in highlighting Brac University's positioning as a high-quality international institution in the regional and global arena.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Chang met the Prime Minister of Bhutan one-on-one, while in the meeting with the President of Nepal, Professor Chang was accompanied by Jonathan Cartmell, Vice President, International of Brac University. In the meetings, Brac University's role as a leading higher education provider in Bangladesh and the broader South Asia region was discussed.

Vice President International, Jonathan Cartmell noted that both leaders appreciated receiving personal messages of welcome from Nepalese and Bhutanese students currently studying at Brac University. Both leaders also commented on the growing attractiveness of Bangladesh as an important study destination for their citizens.

"Quality education goes hand in hand with internationalization. Brac University is setting the standard in this respect while also enhancing student experiences and increasing the impact of the research being undertaken. This all contributes to putting Brac Unversity on the global higher education map," said Professor Chang.
