GCC inks agreement with Nagad to make payment service of utility bills digital

Payment of various utility bills of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) can be paid through digital financial service Nagad.

Nagad and GCC has inked an agreement last week in this regard, according to a press release issued.

The citizens of GCC will be able to pay their holding tax, rent of various shops run by GCC, payment of hat-bazaar lease fee, payment of license fees of different vehicles, payment of tuition fees of schools run by GCC and rent of bill boards through Nagad.

Trade license fees will be added to the list very shortly, the press release said.

GCC Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam and Executive Director of Nagad Md Shafayet Alam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Senior officials of both the organizations were present at the time, the press release reads.

GCC Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam said, "The citizens will be able to easily pay the bills and fees of all the services of the city corporation digitally through Nagad without any hassle from now on."

Md Shafayet Alam, executive director of Nagad said that it is normal for an organization of the Bangladesh government to provide services to the people through another government organization.

"Through this agreement, the citizens of GCC will be able to pay their bills for various services sitting at home," he said.

Nagad is facilitating government and non-government organizations to adopt digital payments facilities so that citizens can easily get their service without any challenge since its inception.

BENEATH THE SURFACE
The Dazzling Fake Flowers: Is there any alternative to artificial flowers while decorating homes, showrooms, offices and business establishments? Fresh flowers are undoubtedly beautiful, but they dry out quickly. Hence, the demand for plastic flowers is rising day by day. Traders said these lifelike silk flowers usually come from China and Thailand. The photo was taken from the 29th International Trade Fair of the Chattogram Chamber on Friday.
