More and more people are dropping their samples for Covid-19 test amid the second wave of the deadly coronavirus.
At 10 am today, the number of patients coming to submit samples for coronavirus test was higher than any other day at the Covid-19 lab of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) set up at Betar Bhaban. Three long lines could be seen this morning.
Although there is a specific time mentioned on the online application to submit the samples, in reality, one has to wait for 40 minutes to one hour to give the samples.
The government on Tuesday decided to extend the ongoing lockdown by another week to 28 April as infections keep surging.
All government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices will be closed, while banks and stock markets will be open on a limited basis.
During the lockdown, all modes of public transportation will be shut down as well.
Special and chartered flights, on the other hand, will be available. Industries and factories can operate in accordance with health regulations.
The ban does not apply to any emergency services.
