Weapon factory busted in Chattogram, 2 held

The members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have raided a weapon manufacturing factory in Chattogram on Thursday and seized several locally-made weapons and equipment used in the weapon making process.

Moreover, the elite force also has arrested two individuals in this connection, confirmed Mahmudul Hasan Mamun, media officer of RAB-7, through a press release.

The arrestees were identified as Md Rokon, 38, and Md Abdul 32, hailing from Khurushia village of Rangunia upazila of the district.

Based on secret information, the Rab members conducted a raid at a weapon factory in Deba hill of borderline area in Chattogram, says the press release.
"The Rab members seized locally-made 4 one-shooter guns, 3 rounds of live cartridges, 10 round empty shells and a huge amount of weapon-making tools.

"We arrested two people in this connection during the raid. They informed that they were making weapons in the area for a long time, and sold those to terrorists in various areas of Chattogram," reads the press statement.

Legal measures - about the weapon seizure and arrest - were underway, the statement adds.
