A businessman has filed a case with a Chattogram court against four people, including former managing director of International Leasing and Financial Services Limited (ILFSL) PK Halder, seeking compensation of Tk930 crore.

PK Halder is a fugitive accused of embezzling thousands of crores of taka from different financial institutions of the country.

The other accused in the case are - Jahangir Alam, Siddiqur Rahman and Ujjal Kumar Nandi of Dhaka.

After a hearing on the case, filed by businessman Abdul Alim, Judge Khairul Amin of the First Joint District and Sessions Judge's Court issued summons against the four accused on Sunday.

"Alim sold 64% shares of an under-construction hotel in Cox's Bazar to PK Halder. But since 2014, Halder has not returned the shares or the money of the shares. Therefore, a compensation case was filed," Alim's lawyer Russell Sarkar told The Business Standard.

The court has set 3 June for the next hearing on the case.
