A minor girl died of dengue infection at Dhaka Shishu Hospital around 3am today.

The deceased is Sania, 9, hailing from capital's Mohammadpur Geneva camp.

"Sania was admitted to the hospital around 10.30pm Saturday (September 14) with dengue fever. Her situation was critical. She was died of expanded dengue syndrome," said Kinkar Ghosh, epidemiologist of Dhaka Shishu Hospital.

"Dengue death toll reached to 17 at Dhaka Shishu Hospital so far," he added.
