After Dhaka, Sylhet and Chattogram, a case has been filed against former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur under the Digital Security Act in Cox's Bazar.

The case was filed for insulting religious values, making provocative and defamatory remarks about Awami League leaders and activists on Facebook Live.

Cox's Bazar District Chhatra League vice-president Moin Uddin filed the case with Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station under the Digital Security Act on Wednesday evening.

Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station OC Sheikh Munir-ul-Gias confirmed the matter and said that it is being investigated.

According to plaintiff Moin Uddin, Nur came to Facebook Live from his personal ID and made defamatory and offensive remarks against Awami League leaders and activists, including hurting religious values and sentiments of many religious leaders and activists in Bangladesh, destroying communal harmony, and deteriorating law and order situation. A case has been filed against him for this reason.

On 14 April afternoon, Nur came on Facebook Live and said, "No Muslim can be an activist of Awami League. Those who are activists of Awami League are extortionists, swindlers, drug dealers, cheaters type Muslims."

He was also heard saying, "No one in the Awami League is a real Muslim."
