Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said that the government is working on taking legal action against Qatar-based TV channel Al Jazeera over a recent report.
"The acceptance of the Al Jazeera has declined due to their false and fabricated reports," the minister made the remark in a programme at the Army Stadium in the capital on Saturday, reports Somoy TV.
Abdul Momen said, "The public understood that it was false information. We will highlight the erroneous information of the report. We are working to take legal actions against Al Jazeera."
"We know Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina well. In her political career of 45 years, now she is being guarded by the SSF. She never had any bodyguard before. But their report showed a picture of a man as his bodyguard. Such false information cannot be accepted," he added.
Earlier on 2 February night, Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry termed the Al Jazeera report titled- "All the Prime Minister's Men" as politically motivated "smear campaign" by notorious individuals associated with the Jamaat-e-Islami extremist group.
