Four Ctg shops fined for their English signboards

On the fourth day of its ongoing drive against English signboards, the Chattogram City Corporation has fined four business organisations for using signboards written in English instead of Bangla.

The shop called Flavors Premier Sweets in the GEC intersection area was fined Tk5000, Gentle Park Tk2000, Aheli Restaurant Tk2000, and Sizzle at Wasa intersection was fined Tk2000, all for having English signboards.

A mobile court led by Marufa Begum Nelly, executive magistrate of Chattogram City Corporation, conducted the drive in different areas of the port city on Friday.

During the drive, the magistrate also fined four shop owners Tk4000 in Kazir Dewri area for selling goods in polythene bags, violating the rules. 

This campaign started on 1 February and will continue throughout February.
