He does have a great record against Windies in both Test and ODI formats. Miraz has played 4 Tests against Windies so far and bagged 24 wickets from 7 innings at an average of 18.00.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz announced himself in the international circuit with a stunning performance against England in his debut series back in 2016. The off-spinning all-rounder soon became an important weapon in Tigers' bowling attack with his wicket-taking ability and economic bowling. He had a fine 3 years in international cricket, but the honeymoon period did come to an end and since then he has been struggling even to get back on the team sheet.
He had a dry spell just before the pandemic halted cricket, wasn't making enough contribution and eventually got ruled out of the squad. But Miraz is now on a mission to get back to the team and return to his best.
The opposition team for the series, West Indies, giving him some extra niye confidence nonetheless. He does have a great record against Windies in both Test and ODI formats.
Miraz has played 4 Tests against Windies so far and bagged 24 wickets from 7 innings at an average of 18.00. In the last Test he played against them, he bagged 7 in the first innings and then bagged another five-for in the second innings of the match. He has fine record against Windies in ODIs as well where he bagged 12 wickets from 10 matches.
Miraz reminisced his good memories against Windies even though he has been out of form in the recent times. He believes his past record against them will somehow help him in the upcoming series.
"I was unable to perform well in the last 3-4 series I played, but I do have a good record against them (Windies) in both the formats. I will take the confidence from that and try to give my best in the upcoming series," said Miraz.
Bangladesh will be returning to international cricket after a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They last played an international series against Zimbabwe back in March last year. Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will also be returning to international cricket after serving a year-long ban.
